In a June 2026 Chef’s Kitchen segment on Spectrum News 13, Sous Chef Javier Viscaya shares how Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar in Kissimmee builds a kids’ menu around dishes children are actually likely to try.
Viscaya demonstrates two of them. The kids’ grilled chicken bowl pairs grilled chicken with rice and steamed edamame, with teriyaki sauce served alongside for dipping — a format that works just as well with salmon, steak or shrimp. The chili garlic cucumbers are cured overnight in a rice wine vinegar marinade with sweet bell peppers, then finished with chile garlic crisp and furikake.
